Gorazd Meško has worked at the Faculty of Criminal Justice and Security since 1992. He has conducted numerous national and international research projects, and organised national and international criminological conferences. He has authored articles published in renowned international journals and is serving as the managing editor of Journal of Criminal Investigation and Criminology. He has co-edited books Understanding and Managing Threats to the Environment in Central and Eastern Europe (Springer, 2011), Handbook on Policing in Central and Eastern Europe (Springer, 2013), and Trust and Legitimacy in Criminal Justice – European Perspectives (Springer, 2015). He also served as a guest editor of special issues of international criminology journals, such as Policing – An International Journal of Police Strategies and Management (2009), The Prison Journal (2011) and Crime, Law, and Social Change (2013). He received the Zois award for his contributions to social sciences from the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports of the Republic of Slovenia in 2014. He has been the International Ambassador of the British Society of Criminology since the autumn 2015. He is also responsible for a doctoral programme in Criminal Justice and Security.

Professional Training

Professor Gorazd Meško was a visiting scholar at the Institute of Criminology, University of Cambridge (1996), Centre for Criminology, University of Oxford (1996, 1999). He conducted his post-doctoral research on crime prevention in Western societies at the Institute of Criminology, University of Cambridge (OSI-HESP, 2001). He was a visiting scholar at the Insttute of Criminology, University of Cambridge (2010-2014).
